Most Hondas sold in the UAE take a Group 51R (JIS 46B24L or 55B24L) battery of around 45–55Ah, and we deliver and fit it at your home, office or on the roadside. If your Honda is clicking, cranking slowly or dead in a car park right now, call or WhatsApp +971 58 242 4859 — tell us the model and year, and we’ll confirm the exact battery and price before we set off. We fit Honda car batteries across Dubai and nearby areas of the UAE, 24 hours a day.
This is written by the technicians who replace Honda batteries across Dubai every week. Below is the size chart by model and year, which Hondas need AGM or EFB, and how long a battery actually survives in this heat.
What battery does a Honda use in the UAE?
Honda uses Japanese (JIS) battery sizing rather than the European DIN boxes you’ll find in a German car. That matters for two reasons:
- The terminals are thinner and reversed. A JIS battery has smaller posts, and on most Hondas the positive terminal sits on the right when you face the battery. Fitting a DIN battery usually means the cables won’t reach or the bonnet clamp won’t close properly.
- The tray is short. Honda engine bays are tight. A “bigger battery for more power” almost never fits, and an unsecured battery in Dubai heat is a fire risk, not an upgrade.

So the right answer for a Honda is the correct JIS size with the highest reliable cold cranking amps (CCA) that fits the tray — not the largest box on the shelf.
Honda battery size chart: group size, Ah and CCA by model
Use this to check what your car takes before you order anything. Sizes vary between GCC trims and production years, so we always confirm on-site with the old battery in hand before fitting.

Two things people get wrong with this chart. First, Ah is not the number that starts your car — CCA is. Ah tells you how long the battery runs the electronics with the engine off. Second, the same model year can carry two different sizes depending on whether it came through the official GCC dealer or as an import, so always match the label on the battery already in the car.
Not sure which one is in your Honda? Message us on WhatsApp or call +971 58 242 4859 with your model and year — or just send a photo of the battery label. We’ll tell you exactly which battery fits your vehicle, what it costs fitted, and how soon we can be there. A technician usually reaches you in 20–25 minutes.
Which Honda models in the UAE need an AGM or EFB battery?
If your Honda has idle stop (the engine cuts out at traffic lights and restarts when you lift off the brake), it needs an EFB or AGM battery — not a standard flooded one. A normal battery in a start-stop car typically fails within a year, because it’s being asked to crank 20 or 30 times per trip instead of once.
Honda’s system is badged Idle Stop, and in the UAE it shows up most often on:
- Accord 1.5T and 2.0T, 2018 onwards : Idle Stop on most trims
- CR-V 1.5 Turbo, 2017 onwards : higher trims
- Civic 1.5 Turbo / RS : trim dependent
- Any Honda hybrid : the 12V support battery is AGM
Rather than trust a trim list, check the car itself. Look for a button marked A with a circular arrow around it near the gear selector, or a green “auto stop” symbol on the dash. If it’s there, you need EFB as a minimum. If the original battery has AGM printed on the label, replace it with AGM — going back to flooded will trigger charging faults and kill the new battery early.

Honda car battery price in Dubai
Honda battery replacement in Dubai starts from AED 120, fitted at your location. What you pay depends on three things: the group size your Honda takes, whether it needs a standard, EFB or AGM battery, and the brand and warranty length you choose. A Jazz and a CR-V with Idle Stop are not in the same bracket.
Battery testing is free. We test the battery and the charging system first, so you only replace it if it actually needs replacing. Every battery we fit carries a warranty of up to 36 months, depending on the brand and size you choose.
Send us your model and year and we’ll tell you which battery fits your vehicle and what it costs fitted call +971 58 242 4859 or message us on WhatsApp. The quote is the price you pay: delivery, fitting, testing and disposal of the old battery are all included, and there is no separate call-out charge.
One thing worth knowing before you choose. What moves the price is the brand and the warranty length, not the badge on the car, and in Dubai heat the cheapest option is rarely the cheapest over three years. See our breakdown of the top 10 car battery brands in the UAE and which lasts longest.
How long does a Honda battery last in Dubai heat?
Plan on 18 months to 2.5 years for a standard battery in Dubai, and 2–3.5 years for a good AGM. The same battery in London or Toronto would give you 4–6 years.

Heat is the reason. Above roughly 35°C, the chemistry inside the battery speeds up, the electrolyte evaporates through the vents, and the internal plates corrode faster. A car parked in direct sun in Al Quoz in July sees engine bay temperatures well past 70°C. Two things make it worse:
- Short trips. Ten minutes to the office never replaces what starting the car and running the air conditioning took out.
- Long airport parking. Two weeks in an open car park in summer will flatten a battery that was already halfway through its life.
If your Honda is past two years and you’re heading away for the summer, it’s cheaper to replace it before you travel than to get stranded at Terminal 3 at 2am.
Signs your Honda battery is failing
You usually get a week or two of warning. Watch for:
- Slow crank. The engine turns over lazily for an extra second before catching, especially the first start of the morning.
- Idle Stop stops working. This is the earliest signal on an Accord or CR-V. The system disables itself when battery state of charge drops, often long before the car struggles to start.
- A single click, or rapid clicking, and nothing else.
- Headlights dimming at idle and brightening when you rev.
- Dash warning lights : battery, charging, or a cluster of unrelated warnings appearing together.
- Electronics resetting : clock, radio presets or the infotainment rebooting.
- White or blue powder : around the terminals, or a swollen battery case.
- You’ve already needed one jump start. : A battery that has been fully flattened once rarely recovers in this climate.
A jump start gets you moving, but it doesn’t fix a dying battery — the alternator is not designed to recharge a flat battery from zero. If you need to get going first, use our jump start service, then have the battery tested the same day.

Honda car battery FAQ
What battery does a Honda Civic use in the UAE?
Most Civics in the UAE use a Group 51R battery in JIS size 46B24L or 55B24L, around 45–50Ah with 430–500 CCA. Civic 1.5 Turbo and RS trims with Idle Stop need an EFB version of the same size, not a standard flooded battery.
How much is a Honda car battery in Dubai?
Honda battery replacement starts from AED 120 fitted. The final price depends on the group size your Honda takes, whether it needs a standard, EFB or AGM battery, and the brand and warranty you choose. Send us your model and year on WhatsApp or call +971 58 242 4859 and we’ll confirm the exact fitted price, with delivery, fitting, testing and old-battery disposal included and no call-out charge.
How long does a Honda battery last in Dubai heat?
Around 18 months to 2.5 years for a standard battery, and 2–3.5 years for AGM. The same battery lasts 4–6 years in a cooler climate — Dubai’s summer heat evaporates electrolyte and corrodes the internal plates far faster.
Does a Honda Accord need an AGM battery?
Only if it has Idle Stop, which covers most Accords from 2018 onwards. Those need an EFB as a minimum, or AGM if the original battery was AGM. Pre-2018 Accords without Idle Stop run a standard Group 24F flooded battery.
Is battery testing free?
Yes. We test the battery and charging system free of charge at your location, so you only pay for a new battery if your Honda actually needs one.
Can you replace a Honda battery at my location in Dubai?
Yes. We carry Honda sizes in the van and fit them at your home, office, car park or by the roadside anywhere in Dubai, 24/7, usually within 20–25 minutes of your call.
